The custom clothier will debut July 17 in office space in the Midtown development.
Fast-growth custom menswear clothier Blank Label is coming to Atlanta.
The company has inked a deal to open in the soon-to-be reimagined Colony Square in Midtown, but not in a retail storefront like you'd think.
Blank Label will debut July 17 in office space at the 400 Colony Square building, at 1201 Peachtree St NE, company spokesperson Fan Bi Wednesday in an email told What Now Atlanta.
"In a period of record store closures in retail, we are investing heavily in new store development," Bi said.
"This is store number five, with five more in the works."
Founded in 2010 as an online custom shirt brand, Blank Label opened its first brick-and-mortar in 2013 and has stores in Boston, D.C. and Chicago.
"It's a non-traditional retail model in that we're not ground-level and hold no inventory, we pay less than $50 a square foot instead of traditional urban retail being more than $150 a square foot."
Chicago-based Balani Custom Clothiers, which recently launched in Atlanta, operates on a similar model when entering a new market.
The bespoke tailor since 1961 outfitted an office space in Buckhead's One Alliance Center while the company builds-up its Atlanta customer base and identifies the ideal ground-level storefront.
At Balani, clients select lapels, stitching, buttons, buttonholes, pockets, monograms, cuffs, collars, lining and more, starting at $895 with an average turnaround time of six to eight weeks.
Details on where Balani will open its permanent home when they're available.
